The first rooms that we got put together were of course the girl's bedrooms. We wanted them to feel at home as soon as possible to make the transition easier. For the first time, they get their own rooms. It's been a bit of an adjustment, for many reasons, but we are finally getting into a routine.
We decided this would be a good time to get Emma transitioned to a toddler bed. It has been a complete nightmare to say the least. I knew it was going to be more difficult than Molly, who never had any problems staying in her bed, but I wasn't quite ready for just how hard. Emma was pretty excited and willing to get in, but the minute we said good night, she hopped out and thought it was party time. We realized that we had to sit on the floor at the end of the bed and wait until she feel asleep, otherwise she wouldn't stay in bed for longer than 30 seconds.
We have since moved on to putting up a gate in her doorway (not just to keep her in her room, but so that we don't have to worry about her wandering the house or falling down the stairs in the middle of the night). With that and a little bit of time, I think she's starting to get it.
Emma adores Minnie Mouse. She loves her Minnie bed. |
This is pretty much everything in Emma's room. Once the baby comes, it will join her in here, but for now, it's pretty sparse. |
Molly's room. She loves having it all to herself! |
How exciting that the girls get their own rooms! I'm sure Molly is loving it! In one of the pictures of Emma laying on her bed I totally thought it was Molly! They're really starting to look a lot a like!
ReplyDeleteYour girls are getting so big. I'm glad you are getting settled in. I hope the morning sickness is giving you a break too.
