Baby Brayden Scott

We finally welcomed a baby boy into our family.  Tuesday, September 10th was like Christmas for us. We went in so I could be induced, and we were so anxious to finally meet our baby, not knowing yet if it was a boy or girl.

The day was a little long, and sometimes discouraging.  I didn't progress as fast as I thought I would, even when the contractions were strong and intense.  But once Brayden decided it was time to appear, there wasn't really any stopping him.  Born at 5:57 PM, he weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long.  We are already so in love with this adorable little boy.

One of the first things the mid-wife said after Brayden was born was to David, and she asked "Just how big are your feet?!?"  David replied size 13, and the mid-wife responded that must be where our boy got his big feet from.  And Brayden does have some pretty good sized feet.  David is proud.

My Mom was here watching the girls for us, an they were able to come over for a few minutes that evening to see the baby.  Molly and Emma were both pretty excited.  Emma immediately asked to hold the baby when she walked in the room.

We got each of the girls a little Big Sister Bear that we told them was from their new brother Brayden.  They were both thrilled, though Molly caught on pretty quick that they were actually from us.

The next day my Mom came back for a quieter visit without Molly and Emma.  I had to get this picture.  She has one exactly like this for each of her grandchildren, including cousin Abby.  We call this her proud Grandma pose.

David then brought the girls back for another quick visit with Brayden.  We took the chance to get some first family photos.

Brayden in his car seat for the first time, ready to head home.

Little Brayden has been such a delight already.  He is a calm and peaceful baby, rarely fusses, and is a champion at eating.  I feel very blessed.

My Dad and sister Katie joined us all on Thursday, the day we got home from the hospital.  We are so grateful to them, and my Mom especially, for all their help.

And of course we need some of little Brayden trying out his new equipment.
