Molly lost her 4th tooth...and I didn't have to help AT ALL!!! She worked it over all on her own, and was excited when she lost it at school so she could get a little treasure box for it. I call her my Jack-o-Lantern, and just in time for Halloween!
I finally got a picture with my baby boy. Love this baby!
I have to record a few of Emma's current sayings while I can remember them. Some things she says lately:
-Everything is "beautiful". From Daddy's hair, to my skirt on Sunday, to toys or blankets. She will describe everything as "that is so beautiful!" Such a passionate kid.
-I can tell when she's up to something, because I'll ask her what she's doing, and she'll quickly say "I'm not doing anything!" Which translates into "I'm doing something I know I shouldn't be, and you caught me, so I'll stop now."
-She's in a stage of beating up on Molly...pulling her hair, hitting her, destroying her projects. When I get after her about it, she says "I didn't mean to do it!" If only that was true.

1 week down...18 years to go
I've been home with Brayden for a week now. We are so in love with our little guy. He continues to be well natured for the most part. He loves to be held and cuddled, and doesn't enjoy his swing and bouncer too much unless he's sleeping in them. He does well sleeping at night. He goes about 3-4 hours between feedings, and only occasionally decides he wants to stay awake for awhile.
Emma loves her little brother. She always calls him "Baby Brayden." She gets really concerned any time he makes a little peep and runs to get his binky, asking "what's wrong with baby Brayden?" |

Baby Brayden Scott
We finally welcomed a baby boy into our family. Tuesday, September 10th was like Christmas for us. We went in so I could be induced, and we were so anxious to finally meet our baby, not knowing yet if it was a boy or girl.
The day was a little long, and sometimes discouraging. I didn't progress as fast as I thought I would, even when the contractions were strong and intense. But once Brayden decided it was time to appear, there wasn't really any stopping him. Born at 5:57 PM, he weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long. We are already so in love with this adorable little boy.
One of the first things the mid-wife said after Brayden was born was to David, and she asked "Just how big are your feet?!?" David replied size 13, and the mid-wife responded that must be where our boy got his big feet from. And Brayden does have some pretty good sized feet. David is proud.
My Mom was here watching the girls for us, an they were able to come over for a few minutes that evening to see the baby. Molly and Emma were both pretty excited. Emma immediately asked to hold the baby when she walked in the room.
We got each of the girls a little Big Sister Bear that we told them was from their new brother Brayden. They were both thrilled, though Molly caught on pretty quick that they were actually from us.
The next day my Mom came back for a quieter visit without Molly and Emma. I had to get this picture. She has one exactly like this for each of her grandchildren, including cousin Abby. We call this her proud Grandma pose.
David then brought the girls back for another quick visit with Brayden. We took the chance to get some first family photos.
Brayden in his car seat for the first time, ready to head home.
Little Brayden has been such a delight already. He is a calm and peaceful baby, rarely fusses, and is a champion at eating. I feel very blessed.
My Dad and sister Katie joined us all on Thursday, the day we got home from the hospital. We are so grateful to them, and my Mom especially, for all their help.
And of course we need some of little Brayden trying out his new equipment.

3rd Tooth
At the end of August, Molly lost her 3rd tooth. It's amazing how I've come to just dread when her teeth are close to falling out. Hysterics often ensue, but all offers to help her get it out are rejected. She came home from school one day and it was barely hanging on, and she half-hardheartedly asked me to pull it out. Every time I got my hand close, she would bury her head away from me, so I finally just gave up. Tears, complaining of it hurting, wanting it out all followed, but no progress. Then in the morning, Molly came in to my room, woke me up, calmly asked me to pull it out, and let me try. After a couple of failed attempts, my fingers kept slipping, Molly just grabbed it, yanked, and out it came. Relief! For both of us!
